Case Study
Valentis
Creating an identity for a new company is one of my favorite briefs. You can start from a blank canvas, no previous assets to worry about and you get an opportunity to make something fresh and memorable.
Valentis is a start-up based in Adelaide, Austarlia. It will focus on property development but may branch into other areas of expertise in future. This presented a challenge as the logo had to work a a few different levels. The strong V shape inspired me to create the simple device that intones the structure of a building seen in perspective – with its 3 levels. The levels symbolise the multidisciplinary depth of the company. I chose a serif font to give a strong, dependable image, and because the word is derived from from the Latin, valens, meaning strong and powerful. I hope to do more extensive branding work with Valentis in the near future.
